Our country has a big number of fine places for you to enjoy your stay: some wonderful cities as Seville, Granada, Salamanca, Madrid, Malaga, etc., known everywhere in the world. So, it has not got the problems of big cities, though it is big enough as to offer you a good quality of life. You can live quietly in León: There is enough time to study, work and enjoy family and friends. It is a town with a long history, with an amazing old centre and important monuments, though with a modern look. It is located in a province with wonderful and varied landscapes: mountains, plateau, and in less than one hour and a half, the extraordinary beaches of the Cantabrian Sea (Gulf of Biscay). But, above all, La Plaza de Babel is a school of languages specialized in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language with a peculiar philosophy: It is a meeting place for people of several nationalities, where the diffusion and teaching of our language is carried out in an intercultural environment. Conscious of the social and economic importance that Latin America will reach in the 21st century, the teachers working here try The Plaza to become the bridge many people need to learn the Spanish language and culture before living temporarily or definitely in that part of the world. We use a communicative teaching methodology. Our objective is not only to give the students some theoretical background but also to enable you to use Spanish as something actual and effective. To get this the groups in La Plaza have only up to 8 people and we always try our students to get the maximum profit out of your stay in León but, at the same time, feeling comfortable and enjoying yourselves. As for the materials, we use the most modern and efficient. Whenever possible, we develop our own materials thinking of the specific needs of our students, though. In each lesson, which lasts 50 minutes, authentic materials adequate for your level are used. In the price of our courses some optional activities
