Why to study Spanish?
Because it is one of the two most important languages
for international communication in the 21st century.
The following facts, recorded in Anuarios del Instituto
Cervantes in 1999 and 2000, show the importance of the Spanish language:
1) It is the official language in 21 countries:
Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica,
Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guinea, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua,
Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Thus, Spanish is spoken by over 330 million people, what makes it
one of the most widely spoken languages in the world:
2) Many of these countries are lately showing a
big steady economic growth, which will be completed with the development
of a common economic market called Mercosur. Also Brazil - where
the Parliament have declared Spanish as a compulsory school subject-
will belong to this market. So, nowadays, these countries have become
very important targets for the international trade.
These data conclude that, at this moment, the study
of Spanish can offer enormous advantages for those who intend to
develop themselves personally or professionally at an international
level. Don´t wait longer to join over 100 million people who are
already studying it as a foreign language!!!
